American AAdvantage has introduced Preferred Plus and Preferred Seats, which will replace the Preferred Seats and Express Seats products. Elite members, travelers on full-fare tickets, oneworld elite members and travelers flying on an AAdvantage AAnytime award ticket can reserve Preferred Plus seats (previously named Preferred Seats) at the time of booking. Preferred Plus seats are not available for purchase and include window and aisle seats located at the front of the main cabin, as well as exit row seats. Preferred Seats (previously named Express Seats) become available for purchase for non-elite members 24 hours before departure. Preferred Seats are select window and aisle seats located near the front of the main cabin. The cost to reserve a Preferred Seat starts at $4 per flight. These seats are complimentary for elite AAdvantage and oneworld members, full-fare customers, U.S. military and AAdvantage AAnytime award ticket holders.
