Free Night Hyatt Visa

Free Night Hyatt Visa

Hyatt has introduced a new benefit to cardholders that may cause card churners to reconsider closing their account after receiving the sign-up bonus. Hyatt Visa cardholders will now receive one award night annually that can be used for a standard room at any category 1-4 Hyatt hotel or resort. Cardholders will receive the free night every year as an anniversary bonus. Other noteworthy benefits of the Hyatt Visa include no foreign transaction fees and Hyatt Gold Passport Platinum membership. Cardholders earn three points per dollar spent at Hyatt and one point per dollar spent everywhere else and new cardholders receive two free nights at any Hyatt worldwide after first use of the card. The card has a $75 annual fee.

Bottom line: Hyatt Gold Passport has six award categories so the annual free night award can’t be used for the best properties, but we checked out the best available rate at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco and room rates started at $239 per night. While offering a free night every year as an ongoing card benefit is nothing new–Priority Club Rewards and Marriott Rewards both offer an annual free night to credit cardholders–a stay at a category four Hyatt hotel is worth more than the $75 annual fee.
