Effective March 1, 2011, Starwood Preferred Guest adjusted the award night category levels for some hotels. More hotels are actually moving down categories and will require fewer points after the category adjustments are made, which is good news for SPG members. In all, 93 hotels will be moving down into lower award categories and 84 hotels will be moving up into higher categories. The majority will be staying the same.
