American AAdvantage has joined Facebook and Twitter and members can follow the program via these social media channels to learn about how to earn more miles.
Members who “like” AAdvantage on Facebook at facebook.com/aadvantage or follow the program on Twitter by following @AAdvantage will find special mileage offers, partner offers and promotions, such as the triple mile offer on flights between New York and Tokyo Haneda through May 31, 2011. “Other airlines have their own airline-specific places on those social media channels, but not dedicated to mileage benefits. We are giving a very specific channel here for people who want to learn how to earn miles,” said Charlie Sultan, VP of partner marketing for AAdvantage. The program also plans to list offers and giveaways that can only be found on Twitter and Facebook. Since the launch on Feb. 14, 2011, American AAdvantage has 247,482 people who like them on Facebook and 7,143 followers on Twitter.
