Marriott MegaBonus, MegaMiles

Marriott Rewards is bringing back its MegaBonus promotion and members can earn one free night for every two paid stays made through April 30, 2011, up to two free nights. Registration is required by March 31, 2011 at http://www.MarriottRewards.com/MegaBonus – The free night certificate can be used at over 2,800 Marriott Rewards category 1-4 hotels through Sept. 30, 2011. MegaBonus award nights are not transferable and members staying on an earned night award will not receive credit for the stay. Members who choose to earn miles are not eligible to earn free nights with this promotion, but you can change your earning preference from miles to points to start earning MegaBonus nights by updating your online profile or calling guest services at (800) 450-4442. Hotel brands participating in the MegaBonus promotion include: JW Marriott, EDITION, Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, TownePlace Suites by Marriott and Marriott Vacation Club. When registering for the MegaBonus, members may be targeted for alternate offers, such as up to 50,000 points for staying 25 nights.

For members who prefer to earn miles instead of points, Marriott is offering its MegaMiles and MegaBonus promotions concurrently. With MegaMiles, members will earn triple miles with their preferred airline partner for each stay, beginning with your second stay, between Feb. 1 and April 30, 2011. To register for MegaMiles at http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?3793 you will need to update your profile to earn miles with a specific airline. There are 27 participating airlines but only 20 airlines are participating in MegaMiles. Partner Southwest Airlines that normally participates in Marriott Rewards is not a participating airline in MegaMiles.

Bottom line: Marriott Rewards members can register for both MegaBonus and MegaMiles to take advantage of both offers, but be sure to update your earning preference to make sure your stay will reflect your earning preference of triple miles or free nights (points). Members completing four or more stays during the promotional period may want to switch their earning to miles after maxing out the MegaBonus offer of two free nights. The number of miles members can earn with MegaMiles is unlimited.
