Hyatt Elite Status Match Ends

Hyatt Elite Status Match Ends

In a quick note to members via FlyerTalk, Hyatt Gold Passport recently announced that they will no longer offer an elite status match; however, “in select cases, a trial offer may be proposed at the discretion of the individual hotels’ sales department,” said Chrissi R., a Hyatt spokesperson. A few years ago, it was relatively easy to get a status match from Hyatt with a copy of your points statement from the program you would like matched along with a copy of the front of your membership card noting your status–and in recent years there have been many fast-track to elite offers.

Currently, Hyatt Gold Passport members can get Platinum elite status when obtaining the Hyatt credit card. Platinum elite is normally earned with five stays or 15 nights in a calendar year and comes with 15 percent bonus points plus other benefits. Diamond status is the top tier, earned with 25 stays or 50 nights.
