Priority Club Points or Nights

Priority Club Points or Nights

Priority Club Rewards members can choose to earn either double points or miles beginning with your second stay or one free night after two stays from Sept. 20 to Dec. 31, 2010. All IHG hotels worldwide are participating, including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express or Express by Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites hotels. Hotels in Asia Pacific, however, are not participating in the free nights but you can earn double points or miles at Asia Pacific properties. For stays at Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites hotels, members earning points or miles will earn double after their first stay.

Registration is required at http://www.priorityclub.com/sweetdilemma and you must choose to earn either double points or free nights. Members who choose free nights can earn up to five free nights that can be used for stays between Dec. 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011. Any hotel rate that would earn Priority Club points is considered a qualifying rate and will be eligible for this promotion.

Bottom line: If you want to maximize the number of free nights you can earn, choose free nights over double points or miles. If you stay twice for $100 a night each time, you’ll earn a free night for only $200 that can be redeemed at any hotel (as long as it’s not located in Asia Pacific), including the more expensive InterContinental properties that normally require up to 40,000 points per night. Choose double points for the same stays and you’ll earn only 2,000 points. Keep in mind that if you choose free nights, you will not earn any base points, miles or Elite Priority Club points until the end of the promotion on Dec. 31, 2010. If you are working towards earning Elite status, choose double points or miles and you will continue to earn Elite points.
