Virgin Atlantic launched its interactive travel community, vtravelled, a year ago and recently added a vtravelled blog to the site. After joining the community, members can upload photos and create Trip Pods, which are travel itineraries of an upcoming trip. In addition to content posted by site users, community members can view destination guides, and if you’re looking for inspiration, you can peruse feature stories written by travel writers about specific destinations.
The Web site continues to attract new members and in the past four weeks, over 100 new members have joined. One of the coolest features is the photo galleries. After clicking the Photography tab, you can browse the latest photos posted by members, search by region or view the top rated. Navigating through the site isn’t particularly intuitive and pages can be slow to load, but if you like being a voyeur of other people’s travels and sharing your own trips and travel tips with others, vtravelled is an online travel community to check out.
