Kingfisher Airlines is officially a member elect of the oneworld alliance. A firm date for the airline to join the alliance will be announced at a later date. Kingfisher will add 56 cities in India to oneworld routes. In other oneworld news, Russia’s S7 Airlines is on track to join oneworld later this year …

oneworld alliance members, American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Royal Jordanian have received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation and the European Commission of their application for anti-trust immunity. The alliance promises “enhanced frequent flyer benefits” with this development including “expanded opportunities to earn and redeem miles and mutual elite tier benefits on flights.” Look for transatlantic joint business coming this fall …

American Airlines is beefing up their presence in New York with new routes, including from JFK: Austin, Texas; San Jose, Costa Rica; Madrid, Spain and Manchester, England; and from LaGuardia: Atlanta, Charlotte and Minneapolis/St. Paul …

CLEAR, the service that offers a speedy trip through security is back. This fall, it will reinstate service at its first airport, Denver, since it ceased operations in June 2009.
