Hotel Happiness

J.D. Powers and Associates has released its 2010 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study. The following hotel brands rank the highest in guest satisfaction within their respective segments: luxury, The Ritz-Carlon; upscale, Omni Hotels & Resorts; mid-scale full service, Hilton Garden Inn; mid-scale limited service, Drury Inn & Suites; economy/budget, Microtel Inns & Suites and extended stay, Homewood Suites. The J.D. Powers and Associates study is based on responses from more than 53,000 guests who evaluated 65 different hotel brands in the U.S. and Canada between May 2009 and June 2010.

Bottom line: Of the hotels with major hotel loyalty programs, Hilton comes out on top with a top placement in the mid-scale full service category with Hilton Garden Inn being singled for this distinction for the second year in a row and for the eighth time in the past nine years, and the extended stay category with Homewood Suites for that brand’s seventh time at number one. Microtel Inns & Suites has won the honor for nine consecutive years–that brand is part of Wyndham Rewards.
