TAM Airlines has joined the Star Alliance and FFP members of the global alliance, including United, Continental and US Airways, can now earn and redeem miles when flying on TAM, which is the first South American carrier to join the Star Alliance. With hubs in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia and flying to 61 destinations, members of Star Alliance carriers have new award options when redeeming miles to and from South America on TAM. Until now, flights to and within South America with Star Alliance carriers were rather limited.
