Southwest Airlines has announced that effective July 1, 2010, American Express Membership Rewards points will no longer be eligible for transfer into Rapid Rewards credits. All transfers must be made prior to June 30, 2010. Membership Rewards points can be transferred in 1,500-point increments for one Rapid Rewards credit. Allow 48 hours for the credits to post to your account.

Bottom line: This announcement gives members plenty of time to plan and follow through with transferring their points but the partnership will be missed.
