Through the month of February, American AAdvantage members can get bonus miles when purchasing miles. You can earn 500 bonus miles when purchasing 2,000 miles, 2,000 bonus miles when purchasing 6,000, 4,000 bonus miles when purchasing 12,000 and 15,000 bonus miles when purchasing at least 40,000 miles. You can purchase the miles for yourself or someone else but the bonus is only awarded to the purchaser and members must purchase 2,000 miles or more in a single transaction from the buyAAmiles or giftAAmiles programs. The bonus miles will be posted six to eight weeks after the end of the promotion.
