SAS EuroBonus has announced that there will no longer be a fuel surcharge on award flights on SAS, Blue1 and Wideroe. The fuel surcharge was introduced in summer 2009 on flight awards, but the added fee has been removed for all award destinations effective last month for customers making new reservations. Note, however, that some EuroBonus airline partners still charge fuel surcharges on award tickets and those charges will not be affected by SAS’ new policy. Kudos to SAS for taking this most popular stance on a most unpopular policy.
