Aeroplan members can now earn miles when purchasing gift cards through the Aeroplan eStore Gift Card Boutique. Many airlines and hotels allow members to earn miles for retail purchases but most restrict earning to merchandise purchases and members often cannot earn miles for gift cards.

Aeroplan has recently added a Gift Card Boutique to its online eStore where members can earn miles for buying gift cards to over 40 retailers in nine categories, including such retailers as Banana Republic, Starbucks, The Body Shop, Gap, Old Navy and Pottery Barn. Aeroplan members will earn one mile per dollar spent on gift card purchases. Gift cards can only be shipped within Canada.
