The Star Alliance has introduced changes to its Web site at www.staralliance.com. There is now a “Book and Fly” function where Star Alliance customers can not only access information about the alliance, but they can now plan, book and buy Star Alliance Round the World tickets. The booking tool displays all available flights and enables you to adjust your route and evaluate different options.

A valuable tool is the fare Products Calculator, which allows customers to plan their journey using any of the Star Alliance Circle Fares or Airpasses. Details of the 13 different fare products offered by the Star Alliance network can also be found along with links to the member carrier booking engines.

When you log on, the new home page welcomes you with photos of satisfied customers and on the right, there is a scrolling bar of Star Alliance member airline logos. When you click a logo, you’ll get a page of information about that airline including the number of aircraft, employees, passengers per year and more such as the name of the frequent flyer program–and a direct link to that program’s Web pages.

The site will continue to be available in several languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. Information on destinations, visas and health requirements as well as up-to-date flight and baggage tracing information is also available.
