Bucking a trend, Gulf Air recently raised the weight allowance for checked luggage. Checked luggage allowances on tickets issued wholly on Gulf Air operated flights are now 50kg (up from 40kg) for first class passengers, 40kg (up from 30kg) for business class passengers and 30kg (up from 20kg) for economy class passengers. If you are an elite-level member of Gulf Air Frequent flyer, you also receive an additional baggage allowance: 15kg for Silver members and an additional 20kg for Gold. Individual bags are limited to 32kg each (70 lbs).
