Bottom line: Double miles are always welcome, but the Mile Maximizer offer is limited to very few partners, and you must carry an eligible Aeroplan credit card to receive the full benefit from this promotion. A car rental with Avis normally earns between 250 and 500 miles per rental and a hotel stay with Delta or Fairmont earns 500 miles per stay, so the double mile offer for these partners won’t bring in a lot of extra miles. But you can also receive double miles for the actual hotel or car rental purchase with an eligible credit card, which makes this promotion more valuable.
