United Goes Cashless with Miles

United Goes Cashless with Miles

As of last month, United Airlines will only accept credit and debit cards for on-board purchases on all flights within the United States (including Hawaii) and on flights to and from Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. On all other international flights passengers can pay with either cash or credit and debit cards. United Express flights will only accept cash.

United Mileage Plus Visa cardholders can pay for in-flight purchases with their credit card and earn 10 miles per dollar spent. Kick back with a $9 smoked turkey and swiss club wrap (available on flights five hours or longer) and a $6 bottle of beer and you’ll earn an easy 150 miles with United’s EasyPurchase no-cash policy when paying with your United Visa.
