United Airlines is testing new radio-equipped bag tags on Chicago flights by asking 1,000 members of United Mileage Plus to use the tags. The participating travelers can check-in online or at a kiosk at the airport and then drop off their bags at a designated spot where the tag will be scanned to verify the passenger’s identity. The hope is that the new tags will reduce waiting times at the airport check in.
