AA Paperless Boarding Pass

AA Paperless Boarding Pass

American Airlines is testing a new mobile boarding pass system for travelers flying from Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles International and John Wayne Orange County. Passengers with an Internet-enabled mobile device can request a paperless boarding pass to be sent to their cell phone or Blackberry when checking in for their flight at AA.com. American Airlines will send an email to the customer with a link to their boarding pass and barcode, which can be downloaded to their mobile device and shown to officials at security checkpoints and gate agents before boarding the plane.

The paperless boarding pass is only offered on nonstop or same-plane flights in the U.S. and to the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Both Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines have introduced similar electronic boarding passes at a limited number of airports.
