Carbonfund.org is a new partner of Virgin America and travelers can now help offset the environmental impact of their flight. Customers can choose to purchase carbon offsets at the time of booking; and coming soon, the touch-screen seatback entertainment system will include the option to buy carbon offsets during the flight. The cost to offset a trip up to 2,500 miles is $5 and $10 is suggested for a trip up to 5,500 miles. Donations to carbonfund.org will go to projects designed to reduce CO2 emissions, such as a biodigester that prevents the methane gas produced from the decomposition of manure from being released into the air.
