As of Nov. 1, 2008, Frontier Airlines passengers have to pay a $15 fee to transport a first checked bag one way ($30 roundtrip). Frontier EarlyReturns Summit and Ascent members, as well as active-duty military personnel and AirTran Airways A+ Rewards Elite members traveling on Frontier Airlines are exempt from the new checked baggage fee and can continue to check two bags at no charge. The new fee will be applied to tickets purchased on or afterSept. 13, 2008 for travel on or after Nov. 1, 2008. Frontier began charging $25 for a second checked bag in June. The fee for a third checked bag is being reduced from $50 to $25 one way.
