Here’s a reminder that the clock has started ticking on your SKYPASS miles. Miles in the Korean Air SKYPASS program are now subject to expiration. All miles earned, whether through partner air travel or credit card, hotel, etc., will be valid for five years from the accrual date until the last day of the corresponding expiration month. All miles accrued before July 1, 2008, will continue to have no expiration, so when members spend their miles, the miles with the earliest expiration date will be deducted first. Once any miles expire, they cannot be reinstated into the account. Members who are aiming for the Million Miler Club need not worry about this new policy when it comes to obtaining their goal — elite level status is determined based on the total mileage accrued regardless of award redemption or expiration of accrued mileage.
