The OAG recently announced this year’s winners of the OAG Airline Industry Awards (formerly the OAG Airline of the Year Awards) at its annual award ceremony. To determine the winners, the organization tallied up the votes of frequent business travelers from around the world. Singapore Airlines received top honors when it was voted OAG Airline of the Year for the sixth time since the inception of the awards in 1982. Continental Airlines maintained its position as Best Airline Based in North America for the fifth consecutive year and LAN Airlines was given the distinction of Best Airline Based in Central/South America and the Caribbean. Qantas, South African Airways, Emirates, Virgin Atlantic and CSA Czech Airlines were voted best airlines based in their respective geographical regions. American Airlines was voted Best Economy/Coach Class and British Airways was awarded Best Business/Executive Class.
