Aeroplan members can now shop at a new Aeroplan eStore and earn one mile per CAD$1 spent. More than 70 retailers are featured, including Dell Canada, Toys R Us, TigerDirect.ca and Chapters.Indigo in product categories such as Apparel & Accessories, Electronics & Computers, Office & Career, Health & Beauty and Books, Music & Movies. You can search by brand, product keyword or category, and then click through to the retailers’ site to complete your purchases. Visit http://www.aeroplan.com/estore to shop. Aeroplan says the eStore will be updating and adding retailers to its list and will occasionally offer special promotions with opportunities to earn bonus miles. Aeroplan collaborated with the U.K. program, Nectar, to create the site. Nectar’s eStores site, launched October 2005, has more than 220 online retailers.

The Ottawa Citizen reports that Aeroplan’s intention is to double the number of retailers associated with the site and the company is seeking to increase the number of non-flight awards it gives out. Currently, 80 percent of awards are for flights and 20 percent are non-flight awards.
