In celebration of the opening of the first aloft hotel, and Starwood’s eighth brand hotel, Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) members can earn eight points for every dollar spent — that’s quadruple the normal amount you earn — until the end of the year when you stay at one of the new hotels. You must register for the offer at www.alofthotels.com/8to1 to earn the bonus points through Dec. 31, 2008. Gold and Platinum SPG members will earn their usual one point more per dollar so these members will earn nine points per dollar spent. The first aloft hotels are scheduled to open in Chicago O’Hare, Minneapolis and Philadelphia airports, Lexington, Mass., Ontario-Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Rogers-Bentonville, Ark., Montreal Airport and Beijing, China. More than 50 aloft hotels are schedule to open in 2009. The hotels will feature a loft-like feel and a lobby that will transform to an “eclectic, electric social scene” at night.
