Turkish Airlines has signed an agreement with AeroMobile to provide in-flight mobile phone services. The system will be installed early this year and will allow passengers to use all GSM and GPRS services, including mobile phones, BlackBerrys, Palm Treos and mobile-date enabled PDAs. The AeroMobile technology ensures that the passengers’ mobile phones are operating at their minimum power settings — thereby allowing their safe use on the aircraft by not interfering with ground telecom networks.

The cabin crew will have the ability to control the system at all times and will communicate with passengers to ensure that they use the phones in an appropriate manner during the flight. The service will be launched on Turkish Airlines routes within Europe and the Middle East.
