LAN Upgrades Business Class

LAN paves the runway for a higher class of service with its introduction of a Business Express premium cabin on short haul routes within South America. LAN is the first Latin American carrier to offer European-style business class service on flights within Latin America, although others may follow if the move is successful. The premium cabin is currently offered only on LAN flights from Lima to Quito, Bogota, and Caracas but will be extended across its short haul network later in the year. The new 12-seat premium cabin will be offered on the Airbus A320s and will be 50 percent roomier than economy seating. Passengers purchasing tickets in the new cabin will also receive a dedicated check-in desk, lounge access, preferential boarding and baggage handling. Furthermore, customers can change the date and time of their flight up to two hours before departure.
