In case you missed this story the first time around, here’s a re-cap of a kitty’s frequent flyer caper. Gracie Mae, a 10-month old kitten from Palm Beach, Fla. crawled into her owner’s suitcase, was zipped inside, went through an airport X-ray machine, got loaded onto a plane, took an airplane flight and a ride on a luggage carousel and was mistakenly picked up by the wrong passenger and taken to a home in Fort Worth, Texas.
“I went to unpack and saw some of the clothes and saw it wasn’t my suitcase,” said Rob Carter, the man who mistakenly picked up the suitcase with Gracie Mae inside it. “I was going to close it, and a kitten jumped out and ran under the bed. I screamed like a little girl.”
Once he was able to coax Gracie Mae out from under the bed, he was able to call her owners from the phone number on her collar and the kitty has made the 1,300-mile trip home to Seth and Kelly Levy in Florida with an $80 plane ticket.
