Delta SkyMiles members will see some welcomed changes to the program this year. Members now have access to Delta partner airline awards through the program’s award calendar, giving members quick access to award availability on not only Delta flights but also Continental, Northwest and Air France flights. And members can expect more airlines to be available later this year. “With access to Delta, Continental, Northwest and Air France award seats on delta.com, our customers will soon have access to more than 95 percent of all seats redeemed at the click of a mouse,” said Jeff Robertson, managing director of Delta SkyMiles.
Furthermore, in order to add flexibility to awards, SkyMiles members who have a Gold or Platinum Delta SkyMiles credit card from American Express can soon take advantage of a new “Pay with Miles” program where cardholders can log in to delta.com, search for travel and then choose to pay with the miles in their account or with a combination of miles and money.
Robertson also says to expect more announcements from SkyMiles in the near future. “Our focus this year is clear — it’s about providing more options to use frequent flyer miles, and providing customers greater transparency in how to access award seats.”
SkyMiles members can now also take advantage of a new partnership with Chateaux & Hotels Collection properties located throughout France, Belgium, Italy and Spain. The Chateaux & Hotels Collection is comprised of exclusive hotels, manors and chateaux. Members will earn 500 miles for each visit booked through http://www.chateauxhotels.com/delta — and as a celebration of the new partnership, members will earn double miles for stays through April 9, 2008. Another new hotel partner for Delta is Grecotel and Classical Hotels & Resorts. SkyMiles members who visit Greece can earn 500 miles when staying at these participating hotels.
