Continental Airlines has teamed up with the non-profit Sustainable Travel International carbon-offsetting program to reduce the impact of carbon dioxide emissions from its flights. Through the new partnership, you can view the carbon footprint of your itinerary from a link on the confirmation page after you have purchased a ticket and make a voluntary contribution amount based on the carbon emissions related to your itinerary, or you can choose to contribute a different amount.

Proceeds generated from contributions will be used to purchase carbon offsets from programs such as international reforestation projects and renewable energy wind farms.
