Last year, Alaska Mileage Plan implemented a process that allowed the upgrade waitlist to roll over to the airport. The waitlist-to-standby process has now been expanded to companion travelers. Elite Gold members receive unlimited companion upgrades and companions booked on the same reservation will be included on the upgrade waitlist that carries over your position to the airport; companions who are booked on a separate reservation will not receive this benefit.
