Northwest and China Airlines

Effective Aug. 1, 2007, members of the frequent flyer programs of Northwest Airlines and China Airlines will be able to earn miles in both programs as well as redeem miles for award tickets. The frequent flyer partnership covers all routes of both airlines and the two carriers will also cooperate in lounge access. Northwest WorldClubs members and business class customers will have access to China Airlines airport Dynasty lounges worldwide. China Airlines Dynasty lounge members will have access to NWA WorldClub. One-stop check-in for passengers connecting between Northwest and China Airlines flights will also be available. China Airlines serves 67 cities in 25 countries and partners with Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Delta Air Lines. China Airlines’ Dynasty Flyer program has more than 1.6 million members while Northwest WorldPerks has over 30 million. Northwest currently has a partnership with China Southern.

China Airlines announced that the airline plans to file an application to become a member of the SkyTeam alliance at the end of the year.
