The Department of Transportation (DOT) has tentatively approved Virgin America’s application to start a new U.S. airline. Virgin America said it hoped to receive final DOT approval in time for a mid-summer launch from its base in San Francisco to New York (JFK). And you might still have time to help Virgin name one of its planes. Go to www.nameourplanes.com to add your proposal to the 17,000 or so names that have already been suggested.
