Mileage Plan members can now book one-way award tickets for travel on Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. With the new one-way award option, you can book a Saver Award one way and a Peak Award for the return trip. A one-way Saver Award is available for 10,000 miles (7,500 miles for flights within Alaska; online only) and a one-way Peak Award is 20,000 miles, so a roundtrip that combines the two awards would only be 30,000 miles, a savings of 10,000 miles if a roundtrip Saver Award is unavailable.

Before the introduction of one-way awards, a member would have had to redeem the award at the higher Peak Award rates. One-way awards are also available at award sale rates. Alaska joins Midwest, AirTran and Frontier in offering one-way awards and matches Delta’s policy of allowing members to mix and match SkySaver and SkyChoice awards.
