If you’ve ever wondered just how many awards were claimed from the father of all frequent flyer programs, American AAdvantage, last year, the 2006 numbers are available online: 2,455,434 AAdvantage MilesAAver and AAnytime awards were issued (on American, American Eagle and AmericanConnection only) as were 852,804 upgrade awards, 205,109 product redemptions (American Airlines Vacations, magazines, etc.) and 946,174 special mileage awards including other airline and other types of awards. The grand total of all awards claimed was 4,459,521.
