We’ve been reporting on the ongoing auctions of United Airlines Mileage Plus and noticed that in the recent auction for another Chrysler Crossfire Roadster, the winning bid was 2,001,000 miles. It was one of two bids that exceeded two million miles for this car. One member really wanted the car, CAPTRON bid 22 times during the three-week auction which drew 57 bids. We’re still amazed at the number of miles many members appear to have to bid these items up so high. But if you missed out on this one, try your chance at the newest item-a 12-hour weekday rental of a red Ferrari 360 Modena, fully loaded with F-1 style tiptronic transmission and of course, free 24-hour Roadside Assistance and free EZPass/Fastlane. The only thing it doesn’t come with is a get-out-of-a-speed-trap card. They are your miles, you might as well enjoy them. P.S. Bidding starts at 1,000 miles and we entered the starting bid … it didn’t meet the reserve so we quit, it’s all yours.
