Rubber Ducks Lead to 3 Milllion Marriott Points

Rubber duckies were floating in full force at the Kauai (Hawaii) Marriott Resort & Beach Club’s first ever “Rubber Duckie Derby.”

The Marriott’s outdoor pool served as the racetrack, and a “Quack Squad” of Marriott employees as the pit crew, making sure the event’s morning and afternoon races were successful.

Proceeds from the event benefited the Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit focused on children’s health issues.

Sacramento residents John and Arlene Breslin, along with their 2-year-old son Chad, purchased a Very Important Duck package for $100, which included 20 derby ducks, two “Duckie Derby” T-shirts and two souvenir ducks.

Shortly after purchasing the package, the Breslins completed an entry form to receive a scratch-off ticket entering them in the Marriott Dream Destinations Sweepstakes.

The Breslins beat 1 in 1,464,000 odds.

They were winners.

The Breslins now have the choice of 3 million Marriott Rewards Points or 3 million frequent flyer miles.
