American Airlines has launched the TrAAvel Perks program (TrAAvelPerks.com), a new online travel program offering members special discounts. Benefits include two companion tickets and 2,500 AAdvantage bonus miles for members who join in 2006.

Standard annual membership runs $159. Membership in AAdvantage is necessary to join.

The 2006 TrAAvel Perks membership benefits include up to 40-percent savings for condo and vacation rentals, member-only discounts for participating hotel and car rental companies, off-site airport parking, event and movie tickets, and golf tee times. Members are also entitled to dining discounts of up to 50 percent off at participating restaurants. These bonuses are in addition to any standard AAdvantage mileage offers that may apply.

Annual memberships expire at the end of the calendar quarter a year after which the member enrolled.
