Seven-Year Old Wins 1 million TripRewards Points

A 7-year-old in Woodbury, Conn., outmaneuvered three other young drivers to win the “TripRewards Kart Challenge” at New York’s South Street Seaport, claiming the first prize of one million points in Cendant Hotel Group’s TripRewards frequent guest program.

The young winner added the TripRewards Kart Challenge victory to his existing record of 27 local wins, beating two 11-year-olds and a 13-year-old to the finishing line.

The event was sponsored by the TripRewards “Drive to Rewards” campaign which offers summer travelers chances to win a 2007 Chevy Uplander LT Entertainer van, an Apple iPod nano digital music player, or $50 fuel cards.

The Drive to Rewards promotion runs until Aug. 31, and offers a coupon booklet (worth some $195 or more) to members checking in at participating Days Inn, Ramada, Super 8, Howard Johnson, Wingate Inn, AmeriHost and Knights Inn hotels in the U.S. and Canada, or at any Travelodge hotel in the U.S.

TripRewards members also earn one entry into the Drive to Rewards Sweepstakes for each qualifying night stayed during the promotional period. The sweepstakes’ grand prize is a 2007 Chevy Uplander Entertainer, with 80 iPod Nano music players as minor prizes.

Members can also visit the TripRewards Web site during the campaign to play the Drive-N-Win game, in which there are over 1,000 $50 fuel cards to be won.

NOTE: Hey kid, trade you the Apple iPod for the million points!
