American AAdvantage – March, 30 2006

American Airlines is pulling out all the stops to compete with Southwest out of Dallas Love Field.

AAdvantage members are already aware that select flights from Love Field can earn major bonus miles. Now, though, AAdvantage is giving award travelers an incentive as well.

Members traveling through May 31 have the opportunity to use fewer miles for MileSAAver award travel between Dallas Love Field or DFW International Airport and Austin, San Antonio, Kansas City or St. Louis. Members may travel roundtrip in these selected markets in economy class for only 15,000 miles (a 10,000 mile savings) and in first class for only 30,000 miles (a 15,000 mile savings).

In December 2005, American Airlines announced that it would begin service at Dallas Love Field on March 2 with a total of 16 flights a day. American will operate four flights a day between Love Field and St. Louis, and three flights daily on the Love Field- Kansas City route, with 136-seat MD80 jets featuring first-class as well as coach service. American Eagle will fly four times a day between Love Field and San Antonio, and five times a day between Love and Austin.
