Bass Hotels & Resorts has swallowed the Posthouse chain with the intent of converting the acquired hotels to the Holiday Inn brand. All but one of the 79 hotels are based in the United Kingdom. The Posthouse chain leaves behind The Heritage chain and Le Meridien, which made up the Compass group. Delta Air Lines, the lynch pin of SkyTeam, has expressed interest in acquiring a stake in Mexican partner AeroMexico. The Mexican government is on the verge of breaking up the holding company Cintra, which controls the country’s two main airlines: AeroMexico and Mexicana de Aviacion. The details and timing of the sell-off have not been finalized but are expected to include limiting foreign investors to 25 percent in either AeroMexico or Mexicana. In an effort to quench rumors, Air Canada Aeroplan has reiterated that it does not have an agreement with Canada 3000 and that Aeroplan participation will not be extended to the newly-integrated Canada 3000. Effective May 1, FTD.com becomes an Aeroplan member. Members will earn 10 Aeroplan miles for every US$1 spent before taxes and service fees. When making purchases, select Aeroplan miles from the Special Promotions menu, located in the Billing Information section.
