AAdvantage Members, AA Employees a Big Help

Employees of American Airlines and American Eagle, as well as a frequent flyer representing American’s 50 million AAdvantage members, formally presented substantial donations to the United Way to assist with hurricane relief efforts last month.

AMR employee representatives Bob Chase, Mark Mitchell, Toni Russell, Rick Smith, and Val Jester presented a check for $75,000 to the United Way. This represents a portion of the funds donated by AMR employees to support fellow employees affected by Hurricane Katrina, as well as charitable organizations assisting with hurricane relief.

David Perry, an AAdvantage Gold member from Plano, Texas, presented a certificate to the United Way for 100 million miles donated by AAdvantage members as part of the “Miles to Move Forward” program. AAdvantage miles donated to the fund provide assistance with air transportation for individuals displaced by recent hurricanes. Perry himself donated 100,000 miles to that effort, which is continuing through Dec. 31.
