BA: Free Flight for Transatlantic Trips. AA: Me, Too!

British Airways’ acclaimed Executive Club free bonus flight promotion is back, giving members the opportunity to earn free flights after just one transatlantic roundtrip. Through Dec. 31, Executive Club members in the U.S., Canada and, for the first time, the Caribbean can earn enough miles from making a transatlantic roundtrip in First or Club World for two free economy roundtrips within North America on partners American Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

After each transatlantic roundtrip (or two transatlantic one-way trips), Executive Club members will be credited with a minimum of 50,000 miles (a bonus of 40,250 miles plus the miles they would normally earn).

For example: a Blue card member traveling in Club World from Boston to London and back would earn 50,006 miles. A Gold card member traveling in First from Los Angeles to London and back would be credited with 64,195 miles.

Members first must register online at ba.com/freeflights2005 and then book their transatlantic flights in a qualifying First or Club World fare class.

Not to be outdone by their oneworld partner, American Airlines has joined the fray. Through Dec. 31, AAdvantage members will earn 42,000 bonus miles for every American roundtrip flight to the U.K. (London/Manchester) in first or business class (booked in F, J, A or D).
