America West has added a new way to book rental cars from its own Web site. With the enhancement, FlightFund members can view side-by-side comparisons between Avis and Budget rental car offerings, such as pickup times, locations and vehicle preferences.

In the interests of disclosure, though, it should be said that both Avis and Budget share a parent company, Cendant, which helped America West develop the function. That said, even some competition between siblings is better for the consumer than none.
