Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan – May, 25 2004

For the second straight year, Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan program took home the Freddie Award for Program of the Year. What’s the secret to its success? Well, in part at least, you have to credit Mileage Plan’s award sale generosity. Every season the program knocks 7,000 miles off the cost of award tickets to some great destinations — and Mileage Plan isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

For this year’s summer award sale, travel between Seattle, Portland or San Francisco and Palm Springs, Calif., or Sun Valley, Idaho, has been reduced to 13,000 miles. Though summer might not be the ideal season to visit Palm Springs (word is it gets a little warm there), this is still a great deal, especially if you’re a golfer on a limited budget.

And with its many natural attractions, Sun Valley is ideal for a family vacation.

This reduced-mileage award is valid for travel through Sept. 2, and travel is not permitted on July 2, 3 or 5. Unfortunately, no stopovers are permitted and all Saver award rules apply.

As always, by booking award travel online at http://www.alaskaair.com, members receive 1,000 bonus miles.
