Northwest Airlines WorldPerks – January, 26 2004

WorldPerks members who are cash-rich but mileage-poor can use a little of each type of asset for travel through the WorldPerks Cash and Miles program. If it’s a trip to Europe you’re after, airfare starts as low as $189 if you throw in 20,000 miles. Or if you don’t have the time to jaunt off to Europe, spend 10,000 miles in combination with airfares sometimes as low as $109 and head to your favorite beach or ski destination with in the contiguous 48 United States.

The Cash and Miles program allows you to spend as many miles or as few miles as you want. Simply put, the more miles you spend the less money you pay.

For those WorldPerks members whose spring or summer plans don’t include a trip to Hawaii, you may want to rethink your plans. Through March 31, WorldPerks members can use part money and part miles for travel to Honolulu or Maui. If you’re one who doesn’t mind coach-class travel, cash in 20,000 miles and spend $260 for travel on Monday through Thursday. If weekend travel is a must, be prepared to spend the same amount of miles and $335. For travel in first class on Monday through Thursday, it will cost 35,000 miles and $535. And weekend travelers will be required to cough up the same amount of miles and $875.
