Lithuania: Amber Miles Reaches Its Fifth Year

Congratulations are due to the Lithuanian Airlines Amber Miles program, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year.

Though the airline itself was launched in 1991 (LAL was the first airline of a former Soviet republic to break away from Aeroflot), the Amber Miles program was not launched until Feb. 1, 1999.

Since then, however, the program has continued to aggressively seek market share by offering plenty of promotions and discounts for its members.

To mark its fifth anniversary, Amber Miles is offering a variety of special deals for members.

For starters, members who fly three roundtrips before March 31 will be able to purchase a fourth ticket for 20 Litas (about 5 USD). A business-class flight will run just 80 LT. The discounted fare is valid for any scheduled flight, and the number that can be earned is unlimited. The sole caveat is that discounted tickets must be issued before Aug. 31, and will be valid for three months.

In addition, Lithuanian is offering the Visa Classic LAL Amber Miles credit card at no annual fee (normally 99 LT). To apply, call Lithuanian Airlines 370 5 2306040, e-mail [email protected] or contact the customer service offices of Parex Bank.

Finally, a one-night stay in a single or double standard room at the Holiday Inn Vilnius before Feb. 28 will cost Amber Miles members only 280 LT. For reservations and information contact the Holiday Inn Sales Department at ( +370 5) 2103000, 2103007.
