Emirates Skywards – June, 27 2003

The Skywards program has partnered with Sri Lankan Holidays to give members a chance to discover several exotic locations in Sri Lanka.

The partnership affords members the opportunity to take any of three tours within Sri Lanka using their miles. The Colombo City tour, which can be had for 5,000 miles (2,500 miles for kids), will take you on a guided tour of some of Sri Lanka’s most historical landmarks, including Independence Square. You will have a chance to sit back and enjoy the fantastic kaleidoscope of old and new, east and west. The Kandy Tour (17,000 miles, 8,500 for children) starts in Colombo and proceeds to Kandy. On the route you will travel past the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage as well as other exotic locals. Once you arrive in Kandy, you can visit the 16th — 19th century golden-roofed Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha.

The final one-day tour is the Galle Tour, which is available to adults for 14,000 miles, children for 7,000 miles. On the Galle Tour you will tour the remnants of the Dutch Empire that ruled the spice trade during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Online booking is available for each of the tours, but be sure to quote the stopover codes: Colombo City Tour-SW1T1, Kandy Tour-SW1T2 and the Galle Tour, SW1T3.
